“There Will Be A GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3,” Says Chris Pratt

Read Time:1 Minute, 19 Second

At this point, I think it’s safe to say that James Gunn’s firing from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 last summer threw some of Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige’s plans for the MCU for a loop. Nothing that couldn’t be fixed or altered, obviously as the studio is now prepping for principal production on Cate Shortland’s Black Widow prequel instead, but I have to wonder if Feige and other higher ups involved thought that they would have had a replacement director for the film by now or not? While fans continue to wait for a name to be announced on Gunn’s replacement, we do know that the plan was to at least use the script Gunn had written for the film.

When asked about the future of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in a new interview with Variety, lead star Chris Pratt stated, “I promise there’ll be a third movie, I don’t know exactly what that’s going to look like, but I know everyone on board is just eager to give the fans what they want and wrap up a trilogy in a meaningful way.

I don’t think Pratt’s answer gives any big revelations as to the current status on the film, but it’s nice to have a reminder that the film hasn’t just entirely vanished at this point and that it will be made in due time.
