Salma Hayek In Talks To Join Marvel’s THE ETERNALS

While there hasn’t been any official word on whats to come in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Spider-Man: Far From Home, we know quite a bit is in development. One of the projects moving forward is The Eternals. We know that Angelina Jolie is involved, and now it has been reported that Salma Hayek is in talks to join her.

The Wrap reports that Hayek is in talks to join the cast which also includes Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) and Game Of Thrones‘ King in the North, Richard Madden. Nothing is known about what role she would take if the casting became official.

The Eternals are an ancient race of humans that the evolution of Earth humans were based off of. They were created to be the protectors of Earth. The movie will focus on Sersi, which is the role that Jolie is playing.

With the announcement that Marvel is returning to San Diego Comic Con, we could get some more information then. If not, D23 is about a month later, and they could announce things there as well. Regardless, after those two events, Phase 4 of the MCU should become clearer.

Hayek will appear next in the sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard, called The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, in which she plays the titular character.

There will be a point where every prominent working actor in Hollywood will appear in a superhero movie. There are some actors who have both DC and Marvel credits to their name already. The superhero movie is the modern day western, so it’s not surprising. A Marvel movie with Salma Hayek, Jolie, Nanjiani, and Madden sounds great. Marvel is a must see brand in and of itself now. They can develop lesser known properties like Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Eternals and people will show up, just like they would a Captain America or Spider-Man movie.

No word on a release date, but we will be sure to keep you posted.
