5 Burning Questions We Have About STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
III. Will We FINALLY Get To Meet The Knights of Ren?
The Force Awakens taught us that a disillusioned Ben Solo was seduced by the dark side of the force and became Kylo Ren. We also know that the moniker was not chosen arbitrarily.
Dialogue between Kylo and Supreme Leader Snoke told us that the dark apprentice was not a Sith Lord but the leader of the Knights of Ren. Frustratingly, however, we’ve seen very little of Kylo’s fellow knights so far. We saw just a single shot of the dark-cowled malcontents in Episode VII and they weren’t even mentioned in Episode VIII. Will we finally get to meet the clan in Episode IX?
One shot in the trailer shows us an unmasked Kylo Ren, flanked by stormtroopers, taking down a black clad figure that looks suspiciously like it may be one of the Knights of Ren. If this hypothesis is true, we have so many questions!
Who are the Knights of Ren? How did they come about? Are they force sensitive? Are they former Jedi padawans like Ben Solo? If so, why did Kylo appear to be the only one wielding a lightsaber when we saw him in The Force Awakens? More to the point, if the dark clad figure is one of the Knights of Ren… Why are they fighting Kylo and his stormtroopers?
December feels like a really long way away!
