RUMOR: 007 To Shake Things Up By Driving An Electric Aston Martin in BOND 25
In a move said to be spearheaded by the film’s director, The Sun reports James Bond will be going green. The publication claims 007 will drive a limited edition Aston Martin in the next movie, which we’re still referring to as Bond 25 now that producer Barbara Broccoli has debunked that it’ll be called Shatterhand. Bond is known for all the amazing cars he drives, and this one won’t disappoint. It’ll still have the gadgetry and panache James Bond is known for, but it was time to make a change and put 007 in a zero-emission vehicle. Bond 25 will start shooting next month, after experiencing a notable delay.
The car will cost approximately $283,000, and is an Aston Martin Rapide E. The car is just one of 155 of the model, so MI6’s 007 will be riding in style. This is all assuming, of course, that The Sun’s sources are right about this. So take this with a grain of salt until it’s confirmed by the production itself.
For now, let’s look at everything we know has happened with Bond 25…
After Danny Boyle confirmed plans to direct Bond 25 a year ago to the date, Boyle withdrew from the film in August of last year after coming into “creative differences” with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson, and Barbara Broccoli. Soon after, Cary Fukunaga was announced to direct the movie. The movie’s release was delayed to April 8th, 2020 and Scott Z. Burns was brought on to rewrite the script back in February. Finally, Rami Malek is in final negotiations to be the main villain for the film. He’s coming to the film after winning the Academy Award for Best Actor for Bohemian Rhapsody.
I’m excited for Bond 25. Craig has been the longest running James Bond to date, albeit he has not been Bond in the most amount of films. He’s the only Bond I’m familiar with so I just have a tiny attachment to his take. Bond is clearly iconic though, so I will be making my way through all 25 soon.
