First Look On Set For THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD (Plus An RTF Scoop Confirmed!)

Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

Production is now underway for the upcoming Ryan Reynolds-led action comedy film, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. The film, a sequel to 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard, will see Reynolds reprise his role as bodyguard Michael Bryce alongside co-stars Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek as Darius and Sonia Kincaid. The Deadpool star posted a photo on his official Instagram account to provide fans with their first look at the sequel.

While the photo reveals little of the film’s story, a quick glance at all of the blood on Reynolds would appear to suggest that Bryce is set to take a beating for his clients. Or perhaps that might be the blood of an unlucky attacker? Another fun easter egg from the caption in Reynolds’ post is that the actor appears to be referencing back to his old late 1990’s sitcom show Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place.

In addition, it has been announced that actors Antonio Banderas and Morgan Freeman would be joining the cast of The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard– confirming our very own MFR’s scoop from two weeks back! Furthermore it was also announced that actor Richard E. Grant (Logan, Star Wars: Episode IX, Withnail and I) will be reprising his role as the drug-addicted corporate executive that appeared in the first film.

For one reason or another, the first film flew under my radar back in 2017, so I will have to go back and watch that film in the near future in preparation for The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. While little in life is ever a guarantee, there are quite a few interesting names in this film’s cast and I’m excited at the idea of seeing how they might all interact with one another in this sort of fictional setting.
