The Arrowverse left on a bang. After the incredible Elseworlds crossover, which we all got to talk about on a Revengers Roundtable Podcast (for the record, my desk is a rectangle, but Mario wouldn’t budge on the title), the show went on a brief hiatus for the holidays. The last thing we saw from them was the announcement of their next crossover:
But before that happens, Arrow, Supergirl and The Flash all have their own business to handle. You can see the mid-season premiere synopses below.
The Flash – S05E10 – The Flash And The Furious
CAITLIN AND CISCO EMBARK ON A NEW JOURNEY
While Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) grapples with the revelation that Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) killed her grandmother, Team Flash must stop the formidable team-up of a newly sprung from jail Weather Witch (guest star Reina Hardesty) and Silver Ghost (guest star Gabrielle Walsh), a new meta-tech villain who can control engines and motorized technology. Meanwhile, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) discuss creating a meta-human cure.
David McWhirter directed the episode, which was written by Kelly Wheeler & Sterling Gates.
The Flash returns Tuesday, January 15
Supergirl – S04E10 – Suspicious Minds
COLONEL HALEY IS DETERMINED TO FIND OUT SUPERGIRL’S IDENTITY
Colonel Haley (April Parker Jones) is upset after Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) responds to a distress call from a Navy ship that turned out to be a deadly alien attack. Colonel Haley reclaims the site as DEO territory and demands that Supergirl step aside. After Supergirl refuses to be told what to do, Haley refocuses her energy on finding out Supergirl’s true identity and begins to interrogate all DEO agents, including Alex (Chyler Leigh). Meanwhile, Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath) tries to persuade Nia (Nicole Maines) to embrace her superpowers but she misinterprets his motives.
Rachel Talalay directed the episode written by Maria Maggenti & Gabriel Llanas.
Supergirl returns Sunday January 20
Arrow – S07E10 – Shattered Lives
OLIVER RETURNS TO HIS REGULAR LIFE IN STAR CITY
Oliver (Stephen Amell) is ready to get back to work with the SCPD and to focus on his marriage with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). However, when Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) tasks Oliver with tracking the new Green Arrow (Sea Shimooka) things take a surprising turn. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) must answer to ARGUS about Diaz (Kirk Acevedo).
Andi Armaganian directed the episode written by Benjamin Raab & Deric A. Hughes.
Arrow returns Monday January 21
While not officially part of the Arrowverse, Black Lightning also has a mid-season premiere synopsis for its return.
Black Lighting – S02E10 – The Book of Rebellion: Chapter Three: Angelitos Negros
PLANS
Still on the run, Jennifer (China Anne McClain) and Khalil (Jordan Calloway) succumb to their feelings for one another and begin planning their future together. Meanwhile, Jefferson (Cress Williams) approaches Henderson (Damon Gupton) with a favor. Nafessa Williams, Marvin Jones III and James Remar also star.
Benny Nzingha Stewart directed the episode written by Jan Nash & J. Allen Brown
As for Legends Of Tomorrow, that will not return until April, after Black Lighting has completed its second season. So you’ll have to wait a little longer for that to return.
But the best corner of the DC Universe is returning this month! Get excited.
