Watch A ‘Special Look’ At CAPTAIN MARVEL And See Some New Posters!

Captain Marvel is rapidly approaching. The 90s entry into the MCU is next up. Thanks to the College Football Championship last night, we were treated to a “Special Look” (which is the Disney’s way of branding a “new trailer”) at the movie. You can watch it below.

This looks like a ton of fun, but I will not stand for the blatant disrespect of Goose the Cat. He isn’t anywhere in this trailer at all! This mainstream media dog bias needs to stop.

There might be a potential continuity error here, with the term SHIELD being thrown around. If you watch the original Iron Man again, you’ll notice Coulson doesn’t use that acronym. Pepper Potts even suggests they need a shorter name. Then Coulson finally drops the term at the end. If they used the term in the 90s, why stop, until Pepper Potts suggests it again? Hopefully there is an explanation, but if there isn’t that’s okay. It is not as egregious of a mistake as the potential timeline error in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Maybe it’s just me, but there were some scenes that it looked like Fury had grayer hair than in other scenes. Yet he has the same eye injury and clothing in both, so maybe it is just the lighting. But it was the first time I noticed the gray in either trailer.

I don’t understand the complaint about (Academy Award Winner!) Brie Larson either. “Emotionless” = not smiling apparently. But she is a grizzled war veteran who has been into space and been through more than any human being on Earth. She has more emotion than Wolverine does in the X-Men movies, but I digress…

If that wasn’t quite enough for you, there were new posters released as well! One for IMAX, one for Dolby Cinema, and one for RealD. Welcome to 2019.

IMAX will always have my heart, but I actually like the Dolby poster here better. If I can get a physical copy of one of those, I will be a happy Marvel nerd.

The aesthetics of the poster, and the movie itself are something to behold. I really like the look of this movie, and can’t wait to see it on the biggest screen possible. We will get a bunch of her this year, like Black Panther last year, as she is set to appear in Avengers: Endgame less than two months after the premiere of this movie. That means both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame could be in some of the bigger theaters at the same time.

Also, just as our editor-in-chief told readers on twitter last weekCaptain Marvel tickets went on sale alongside the release of this new footage. What’s your excitement level like for this movie? Will you be picking up tickets to see it on Day One?

Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8th.

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom. The film stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Bening, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
