RTF EXCLUSIVE: ‘The Cast of BATMAN: HUSH May Surprise You’

In yesterday’s report, I only revealed a handful of key names from the Batman: Hush voice cast. I noticed in the aftermath that some of you still had some big questions, especially with regard to who may be voicing Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman. So I did some additional digging and now I’ve got some more names from the cast for you (still no character names, unfortunately).

Here are some of the other notable names in the cast for Batman: Hush, as well as any previous DC voicing experience to help figure out who they may play:

  • Rebecca Romjin (Voiced Lois Lane The Death of Superman and the upcoming Reign of The Supermen)
  • Hynden Welch (Voices Starfire in multiple DC series)
  • Jennifer Morrison (No previous DC experience, best known for Once Upon A Time)
  • Peyton List (No previous animated DC experience, plays Ivy Pepper on Gotham)
  • Sachie Alessio

So take your guesses, folks. I’d say we have some candidates here for Selina, as well as Huntress. In Romjin’s case, since they seem to be keeping this in the same universe as The Death of Superman, it’s the safest of bets she’s reprising Lois.

Last year, I casually mentioned on an episode of The Fanboy Podcast that DC Entertainment was working on an animated film based on the beloved book Batman: Hush. I did this in the spring of ’18, and it would go on to become confirmed during SDCC a couple of months later. Now I’ve got some more intel on that film, and some of it may surprise you…

Something interesting happens if you go to IMDb and look up Batman: Hush. I’ll save you the click by telling you exactly what’s up: It lists a cast that includes the iconic Bat voice duo of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, and a host of other names.

But the problem is…that list is seemingly pure guesswork.

Remember, folks, IMDb can be edited by fans. As much as we like to use it as an official database, there have been plenty of times when it’s been wrong when used to look up projects that haven’t come out yet.

And it’s understandable why the iconic “Voice of Batman” Kevin Conroy would be listed as starring in the film. The actor has been vocal in years past about wanting to see Hush get adapted into a proper animated film, making notable comments on the subject throughout 2016 and 2017. And everyone’s favorite Joker, Mark Hamill, once joined Conroy in alluding to a desire to see the book get adapted into a film at a Fan Expo back in ’16.

So it’s easy to see why folks added their names to the IMDb listing. But unfortunately, that listing is wrong.

I did some digging on this, and in doing so I reached out to the same source who gave me the now 100% confirmed voice cast for the DC Universe‘s Harley Quinn series. Remember, I reported the cast of that series back in May of last year, and that didn’t get confirmed until October, so I have a ton of faith in this source.

What I discovered about Batman: Hush is that it’s got some notable names attached, none of which are Conroy or Hamill. Just as before, I can only offer you the names of the cast, and not the characters they’re playing, but then we can discuss who some of them are likely playing.

  • Jason O’Mara
  • Jerry O’Connell
  • Tara Strong
  • Rainn Wilson
  • Bruce Thomas
  • Vanessa Williams

Interesting list, isn’t it? It’s comprised of some real animated DC veterans, which could really help us determine who a few of them are playing. So let’s try and make some educated guesses, shall we?

Jason O’Mara is perhaps best known for his work on Amazon’s The Man In The High Castle, but DC fans may remember him as the voice of The Dark Knight in both The Death of Superman, Justice League Dark, and more. So my money is on him returning as good ol’ Bats for Hush.

Jerry O’Connell is no stranger to DC fans. While general audiences know him best for his work in films like Stand By Me and series like Sliders, O’Connell has now been the voice of the Last of Krypton various times, including The Death of Superman and Justice League vs Teen Titans. So you guessed it, I think we can safely assume he’s returning as Superman for this.

Bruce Thomas is another interesting name here. Because while he’s voiced Jim Gordon various times, he’s also lent his vocal talents to various DC villains in the past, like Desaad, Atrocitus, General Zod, Darkseid, and Kobra. So he’s a bit of a wild card. Could be Gordon again, or could possibly end up being the big bad himself, Hush. We shall see.

It’s also a probably a safe bet Tara Strong is reprising Harley Quinn.

As for Rainn Wilson, who’s voiced Lex Luthor in the past, I don’t know where I’d slot him here so he’s another wild card. And Vanessa Williams has voiced Amanda Waller in the past, but she’s another one I can’t quite put my finger on for who she’d play in Batman: Hush.

Last bit I can share with you today is that the film currently clocks in at 74 minutes.

Expect some official news in the near future, and I feel strange contradicting IMDb so directly, so I’m intrigued to see how this all plays out. This source of mine has been fairly spot-on when it comes to voice casts, so I believe them, but we won’t know anything for sure until DC Entertainment makes a formal announcement.

What do we think of these names for Batman: Hush? Will you be disappointed if it does get confirmed that there’ll be no Conroy or Hamill here? Let me know in the comments below!

Oh, and when this intel eventually gets out, don’t forget where you heard it first…right here at Revenge of The Fans. Thanks for reading.
