THE MANDALORIAN Cast Puts The ‘Star’ In STAR WARS – Full Cast Officially Revealed!

The Mandalorian is Lucasfilm’s first live action Star Wars television show. It will premiere on the Disney + app next year. There were reports of people like Pedro Pascal and Carl Weathers being part of the show, but now the cast has been officially revealed by Lucasfilm.

Pedro Pascal and Carl Weathers will be joined by the likes of Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Jack Reacher), and Nick Nolte (Affliction).

This article has been read over by two people, so that is not a typo. Werner Herzog is in Star Wars!

Executive Producer Jon Favreau had this to say about the cast:

“We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we’re up to.”

This cast is stacked. If you think about it, these would be the regulars, that means there is even more star potential with guest stars and bit parts.

Giancarlo Esposito joining my favorite universe is very exciting. His run as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul shows the soft severity he’s capable of. He is quiet and subtle, but intimidating and definitely can hold his own. While we have no idea what his role is, a crime lord would of course be right up his alley.

I’m not too familiar with Swallow and Abtahi, but I am still excited to see what they bring to the table. Nick Nolte was not a name I expected either, but he is capable of great performances. His name was rumored before this announcement as well, but it is nice to get confirmation.

By far the biggest surprise is that Werner Herzog is part of the cast. The legendary filmmaker has an undisclosed role in the show, and the internet is freaking out.

Here are some of my favorite reactions:

It’s nice that the fandom has something to unite and be excited over. The cast is stellar, and as soon as Disney + let’s me subscribe, they’ll have my money.

The Mandalorian hits Disney + sometime in 2019.
