In a very revealing chat with Playboy Magazine, Ezra Miller spoke freely and frankly about some very interesting topics. The Flash actor is currently making the rounds promoting Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which arrives in theaters today, but- unsurprisingly- was asked about his work on that other mega franchise he’s involved with over at Warner Bros: The DCU.

Last month, it was revealed that his solo film The Flash had seen another small setback, and when asked about how he’s feeling about the project right now, here’s what Miller told Playboy:

“Nothing is ever certain in this world, but as certain as things get, we’re making a f****** crazy-dope Flash movie. It’s one of my great life dreams, and just the fact that we’re on the way—anyone who knows about Barry Allen knows he may arrive late, very late, but once he gets there, it’s all solved. We have to trust.”

When he references the lack of certainty, it’s because the production has hit several speed bumps on its way to production. Two different writer-directors have come and gone (Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa), the film’s release date is up in the air after originally being scheduled to arrive at the start of 2018, and while industry publications like The Hollywood Reporter and Production Weekly were confident the film would start filming early next year, it’s now clear that it’ll miss that window as part of an effort to make sure it’s in as good a shape as possible before cameras roll.

Still, Miller sounds extremely excited and inspired to be a part of The Flash, and as someone who was a big fan of his work in Justice League, I hope everything comes together so he can finally make his solo movie. I can’t wait to see what “crazy dope” ideas Miller and filmmakers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (the directing duo behind Game Night, who also wrote Spider-Man: Homecoming) come up with for this version of Barry Allen.

Playboy also asked him about two of his other Justice League pals: Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck.

Dating all the way back to January of 2017, rumors have persistently swirled that one (and now both) of the actors were finished as Superman and Batman. It’s become a sore spot amongst fans, and a constant point of contention as different reports tend to contradict one another, leaving people wondering “What is really going on?

Well, Miller doesn’t have a direct answer for that question, but he’s happy to caution you to not believe everything you read:

“When there are these leaks of information—or however people get stuff—it’s pretty unreliable.”

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is now in theaters everywhere!

If you’re interested, I wrote a review for it yesterday, which you can find RIGHT HERE.
