CONFIRMED: Chilean Actor Pedro Pascal To Lead STAR WARS Series, THE MANDALORIAN
In early October, Making Star Wars unveiled a casting rumor for Jon Favreau’s Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. At the time, the site claimed that Chilean actor Pedro Pascal would lead the series, and today we got confirmation that this rumor was accurate!
Variety is reporting that Pedro Pascal, best known for his turns in Game of Thrones, Narcos, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle, will indeed be the star of The Mandalorian.
At the time of that earlier rumor, Pascal was apparently one of many actors being considered for the role but Variety confirms that he’s now their top choice and that they’re amidst negotiations to finalize his deal.
The actor is currently working alongside Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins in Wonder Woman 1984.
This comes mere days after it was announced that Mexican star Diego Luna would return as his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story character Cassian Andor for a prequel series that will be available alongside The Mandalorian on the Disney+ streaming service.
The series, which is written and produced by Jon Favreau, will also feature the directing talents of Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Deborah Chow. It’s said to take place after Return of The Jedi, in the wake of the collapse of the Empire. Pascal will play “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
