THE FANBOY: “Batman, Superman, Captain Marvel, And The State of Cinema”

On this week’s edition of The Fanboy Podcast, host Mario-Francisco Robles shares the latest whispers he’s hearing about casting for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, some dirt he’s heard on the deal between Henry Cavill and Warner Bros. for him to continue as Superman, potential The Flash news, and his thoughts on both Captain Marvel and the latest Halloween trailer.

Some of the rumored names for The Batman are downright confusing, which is why he’s taking it all with a grain of salt and you should, too. For now, they’re just actors to keep in the back of your mind as we see how things play out. One has been mentioned before, and the other just doesn’t seem right at all.

As for Superman, there seems to be a fly in the ointment, and MFR let’s you know who/what it is. He’s still crossing his fingers it can be overcome, but it’s definitely a wrinkle worth noting.

With The Flash, there seems to be some momentum building around the idea that the film is once again being put on pause while certain things get retooled. Hear why MFR thinks that could be true, based on something unorthodox that’s happened in the casting department.

Then he touches on the new Captain Marvel goodies, and that brand spankin’ new Halloween trailer that hit the net this week.

From there, he invites on his co-hosts from The Revengers Podcast, Brett Miro and Vanessa Bontea, for a spirited (and NSFW) discussion about the state of cinema in the age of mass consumer entertainment.
