Hans Zimmer Returns To DC Films, Will Score WONDER WOMAN 1984!
The pieces are falling in place for the Wonder Woman sequel, and now we know where the music will come from, and its someone who’s no stranger to DC on film: Hans Zimmer!
Hans-Zimmer.com reports that Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice composer Hans Zimmer will return to the DCU to score the Wonder Woman sequel. Rupert Gregson-Williams scored the 2017 film, but still used Zimmer’s original theme for Diana Prince from BvS.
Zimmer definitely has a unique style, so the music will stand out. I love the Wonder Woman theme, it is on my Amazon playlist, and its the only thing from the new DCU movies that has made it to my playlists. (Editor’s Note: Matt, you’re out of your mind. You need to sit and listen to the Man of Steel score right now or I’m banning you from posting about Doctor Who!)
Prior to scoring some of the DCU’s biggest films, Zimmer also worked with Christopher Nolan on The Dark Knight Trilogy, creating iconic music for Batman from 2005 to 2012, and he even tried his hand at Spidey by co-scoring The Amazing Spider-Man 2, so he definitely knows his way around a superhero score.
Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig, Chris Pine, and Pedro Pascal. Patty Jenkins has returned to direct. The plot for the film has remained tightly under wraps, but we know it’s set in the 80s and that the Cold War between the United States and Russia will factor in.
Are you excited that Hans Zimmer is scoring Wonder Woman 1984 and returning to the Worlds of DC?
