A ‘Bigger and Better’ STRANGER THINGS Will Return Next Summer, Says Netflix

The second season of Stranger Things premiered in October of 2017. Most people were expecting the third season around the same time this year, but that won’t be the case.

Netflix VP Cindy Holland had this to say at the TCAs:

“It’s a handcrafted show,” she said. “The Duffer brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard, and they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. And so they really want to take the time to get it right.”

That is a great approach to take. A lot of the problems Justice League had could have been solved if they were allowed to delay it a bit. Stranger Things will have a stronger third season since they are allowed to take their time with it.

Stranger Things is one of those shows with a vast mythology, where people want to know things and have a definitive ending. Deadline asked Holland about how long Stranger Things will last, and she was vague, but definitive:

“We have made a determination how long Stranger Things will go.”

We know that season 3 will show some new cast members, including Cary Elwes, and all of the original cast will return.

The good news about this delay is if you haven’t watched the series yet, you now have a bit more time to catch up before the third season airs.

Are you excited for the third season of one of Netflix’s biggest hits?

Stranger Things: A love letter to the ’80s classics that captivated a generation, Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

Stranger Things 2: It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
