Bill Skarsgård is no stranger to Stephen King’s work. He stars as Pennywise the Clown in the movie It and its upcoming sequel. But he will appear in another project using Stephen King’s characters: Castle Rock. The Hulu series is an amalgamation of a bunch of King’s properties brought together to tell one story. You can see the newest trailer below:

Skarsgård is mysterious and really creepy. He seems to be good at that. There is no word if this series will relate to It or other Stephen King movies, and people aren’t telling either.

Marc Bernardin, co-host of Fat Man on Batman with Kevin Smith, is a writer on Castle Rock, and he fielded that very question on Twitter.

In the trailer you hear them refer to the prison he is in as “Shawshank”, and if you watch close you can find references to It, Cujo and other works.

I am not too familiar with the intricacies of Stephen King’s work. I only have a passing knowledge of them. I’ve enjoyed a few movies from his work, like The Shining and It, but my favorite is probably Shawshank Redemption.

I will check this show out, the trailer looks great. Plus as a Marc Bernardin fan, I would love to support his work.

What do you think of the new trailer? Do you have theories about it already? Let us know.

Castle Rock premieres on Hulu on July 25th.

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.
