Following A Record-Breaking Thursday, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Is Set To Rule The Box Office

Read Time:2 Minute, 8 Second

The Disney/ Marvel relationship continues to create box office juggernauts and this past Thursday’s Avengers: Infinity War became another part of the MCU machine. Before its release there were estimates of the blockbuster having an opening night of at least $45 million dollars, as reported from Deadline.  That number is only a fraction of what the estimates are for the opening weekend which analysts think could be in the mid $200 million mark, coming close to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie that still holds the number one spot. Keep in mind, Disney hasn’t even shared it’s projections for the film, the $45 million was what Deadline estimated only.

With the $39 Million that the film made during last night’s Thursday previews, Avengers: Infinity War has already broken the Thursday record for superhero movies, with only the 2015 Avengers: Age of Ultron movie coming close. The only day old film has even surpassed February’s Black Panther in tickets sold, doubling the number in just a day of screening. There is no ignoring that the ten plus years of build has paid off for the MCU as fans have finally come to meet the culmination of all the awesome stories told on the big screen but some of Marvel’s most recognized characters and with over 4,500 theaters showing the movie, it is almost a safe bet that Avengers: Infinity War is in route to surpass the Black Panther hit that took the world by surprise with its success and international acceptance.

To further add weight to the numbers jargon, the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie in 2015 sits as the 7th highest grossing film in cinema history at $1.40 billion, that was after it being showed in just nearly 4,300 theaters. Are you seeing how big this film can be now? Shawn Robbins, chief analyst of Boxoffice.com, does and shared his thoughts with CNNMoney,

“It’s the payoff to ten years of world-building and character development that have helped change pop culture. The entire concept of a sprawling, multi-franchise universe on this scale is something audiences had never seen before, and that creates a must-see event aura.”

That just about sums up why this film is being met with so much emotion and excitement. If you are fan of what Marvel has been doing the past decade and more then this is movie that should make it feel all worth it. Avengers: Infinity War is in theaters waiting for you to be part of the experience.
