Get ready for the reckoning.
HBO has released a new trailer for the second season of Westworld and it looks like we’ll get more of the same violence and deep, meaningful monologues that audiences got in the first season.
In the trailer, we see Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores leading other Westworld hosts in a bloody uprising against their creators. We also see Thandie Newton’s Maeve strolling through a new area that will be explored this season – Samurai World. Finally, we get a look at Ed Harris as William/The Man in Black continuing his killing spree and taking great joy in it.
The Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy-created series, based on the novel by Michael Crichton, received acclaim upon its premiere in 2016 and generated a pretty solid audience for HBO. If this and the previous trailers are any indication, we’re for a bloody good time when the show returns.
Season two of Westworld premieres on Sunday, April 22 at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.
