New STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Featurette Sheds Light On The Magic of Creating Snoke
One of the many polarizing issues coming out of Star Wars: The Last Jedi was the way it handled Supreme Leader Snoke. Some loved the way Rian Johnson subverted expectations with regard to the character’s portrayal and amount of screen time, and others felt that he pissed away all of this villain’s potential. Regardless of where you land on that, it’d be hard to deny that- technically speaking- the character was a visual marvel.
A new featurette, which will be included on the blu-ray for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, sheds some light on the Academy Award-nominated magic that went into transforming Andy Serkis into Supreme Leader Snoke. Check it out right here:
Serkis is something of a legend in the arena of motion-capture, having garnered incredible praise- and even the occasional Oscar buzz- for his performances in the Lord of The Rings films, King Kong, and the last three Planet of The Apes movies. Even with his limited screen time in The Last Jedi, he left an indelible mark with his portrayal of Snoke- a haunting, seething, disfigured villain that effortlessly oozed menace.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will arrive on blu-ray on March 27.
