The Dwayne Johnson- headlined film, Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, continues to lay the smack down in the box office. I couldn’t help but make “The Rock” reference wrestling reference, but it does not take away that the film has been making a killing since its release in late December. The numbers are staggering considering the short time it has been out, as reported by Deadline, with a worldwide gross of $701.7 and counting!

The pseudo-reboot of the 1995 film that starred Robin Williams is nearing being Sony’s 5th highest earning film, sitting behind only the Spider-Man movies, that being 1 through 3 and the recent Spider-Man: Homecoming. The bulk of the success came in the holidays, giving this movie a great ability to be watchable regardless of the season.

This new Jumanji that stars big names like Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, takes a more comical look at the classic 95’ film that saw two kids be sucked into the jungle world after playing a board game. This rendition is an upgrade as the board game is now a video game but has the same concept.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is in theaters everywhere.

Have you seen it yet? If so, what did you think? Is it worth all the hype?

This thing is a runaway train and I still haven’t seen it. I wonder how fast tracked the sequel is at the moment? Surely a script is in the draft stages by this point.

I have no doubt this is not the last we have seen of the world of Jumanji and it will not be a 10 year wait either. With this kind of success in such a short time it would be foolish to let the interest pot go to a simmer.
